Biography:
Dr. Sergio Guerrero brings to DIA experience as a CEO, Director, Project Manager, and Quality Assurance Auditor for the pharmaceutical/CRO/SMO industry developing and managing clinical trials from phase I-IV on drugs, biologics and medical devices. He presently serves as President/CEO of Accelerium Clinical Research in Monterrey, Mexico, a clinical research consortium where he provides scientific, medical, and business leadership for the evaluation of potential drugs, biologics, and medical devices development and clinical research activities in Mexico and Latin America. He is responsible for establishing and implementing clinical trial activities based on specific regulatory strategies, and for teams tasked with managing the budgets and timelines for these activities. Dr. Guerrero previously, served a Director of the Hospital OCA/Monterrey International Clinical Research Center in Monterrey, Mexico where he managed a multi specialty hospital investigator network to conduct clinical trials for the International pharmaceutical and CRO industry, and he has also served as a Director of Latin American for INC Research, CRO based in Raleigh, North Carolina, and Director of the Mexican Institute for Clinical Research (IMIC) in Mexico City. He holds more than 18 years of experience in the clinical research arena developing and implementing processes and procedures to train and manage clinical teams, and monitor the conduct of clinical trials in accordance with the ICH/GCP guidelines and local regulations. In addition, he has coordinated numerous educational events related to ICH GCP guidelines among the medical and regulatory communities in Mexico and Latin America. Through these and other professional and educational activities, Dr. Guerrero has become a recognized expert on the clinical and regulatory aspects of the Latin American region.
