Bayard Gardineer has been named Director of Finance/Chief Financial Officer for DIA and will oversee DIA’s global finance operations and information technology efforts. Currently the Chief Financial Officer of the American Red Cross, Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter, Gardineer will replace Andrew Pepito, who departed from DIA in September 2012. The DIA Board of Directors is pleased to bring this seasoned financial executive aboard, effective January 1, 2013.

As CFO of one of the nation’s largest regional American Red Cross chapters, Gardineer developed strategies for financial stability and provided oversight of finance for Upper Division 6, which consists of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, National Capital Area and West Virginia. He was responsible for more than $50 million in annual revenue, as well as $80 million in assets. Previously, Gardineer served in executive financial positions with, Vocaltec Communications, Heraeus Instruments and Sony Corporation of America. In 2009, the Philadelphia Business Journal and Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business recognized Gardineer as CFO of the Year.

DIA Controller Cheryl Byrne has been serving as interim CFO and will continue to serve as Controller when Bayard assumes this position full time in January. <
