Biography:

As Worldwide Executive Director for DIA, Paul directs the 18,000 member association’s strategic plan and oversees global operations from DIA’s headquarters in Horsham, PA and the Washington DC office. Paul’s career has been dedicated to healthcare policy and administration including leadership roles in medical and scientific societies and administration in health systems settings. Paul has a track record of successfully leading global member-driven associations, developing quality education programs, and building coalitions and alliances. Prior to joining DIA, Paul served as chief executive of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), an association of 7,000 reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgeons, where he advanced the society’s programs, public education, and health policy agenda through collaborative work and partnerships with elected leaders. From 1997 to 2002, Paul acted as Executive Director for the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR), an international society representing a sub-specialty of radiology that uses image guidance to perform minimally invasive surgical procedures. His earlier career included the following positions: Executive Director for the Clinical Laboratory Management Association; Assistant Vice President for the Medical College of Pennsylvania; Executive Director for Maxicare, Philadelphia; and Deputy Director for the US Public Health Service Outpatient Clinic in New York City. Paul currently serves on the Board of Directors of the National Health Council, previously served as Chair of the Board of The Center for Association Leadership (ASAE) and is a fellow of the American Society of Association Executives. Paul holds an MBA in Health Administration from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.
