Dr. Lastic studied biology, computer sciences and languages in France and Germany. He holds a PhD in biology from Bayreuth University, Germany.
After several years as an assistant professor at the University of Bayreuth, he joined the pharmaceutical industry where he spent 20 years in different management positions in the field of clinical research.
He is currently an expert in the field of standards for information exchange in the healthcare area and is the Data Privacy Officer for Research & Development of Sanofi.
Dr. Lastic is Chair-Elect of the Board of Directors of the Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC) and Chairman of CDISC Europe as well as Board member of the International Pharmaceutical Privacy Consortium (IPPC).
He is also member of the EudraCT Telematics Implementation Joint Operations Group and of the EudraVigilance Expert Working Group of the European Medicines Agency. He is also member of the Advisory Council Europe of the Drug Information Association (DIA).
