Biography:
Ms. Krishna Sarma, is the Managing Partner, Corporate Law Group (CLG). She
started CLG in 1998. CLG specializes in the life sciences area, particularly in
pharmaceuticals, and its practice includes filing and prosecuting patents and
other IPRs, Regulatory and compliance, Policy Advocacy and Government
Relations, Drug Pricing. Further, in recent years, CLG has helped clients with Due
Diligence, Transactional Documentation, M&As, Licensing, and patent & pricing
litigations.
Krishna joined the Bar in 1993. She started her career as a Corporate litigator in
India. Krishna then worked in the Washington DC offices of Thelen, Reid and
Priest LLP. She has also obtained specialization in Advanced Licensing from
Franklin Pierce Law Center, Concord, New Hampshire, U.S.A.
She has majored in History from Miranda House, University of Delhi in 1989 and
has done her LL.B from Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi. Krishna was the
Sports Secretary (1986- 87) and General Secretary (1987- 88) of Miranda House.
She chaired the ASSOCHAM Committee on WTO and IPRs (2008- 2010) and was
part of India’s Business delegation to WTO Ministerial. She was also an Observer
to the WIPO Standing Committee on Patents. In 2002 and 2007, Krishna deposed
as an Expert Witness before the Joint Parliamentary Standing Committee on
Commerce and Industry.
In June 2011, she has been appointed as Additional Advocate General of Assam
attached to the Supreme Court of India.
