Dr. Sergio Guerrero brings to DIA experience as a director, project manager, and quality assurance auditor for the pharmaceutical/CRO/SMO industry, and in developing and implementing processes and procedures required to manage clinical teams and monitor clinical trial conduct in nearly every therapeutic area, along with biologic and medical device products, from phase 1 to 3. He presently serves as President/CEO of Accelerium Research in Mexico, a clinical research consortium where he provides scientific, medical, and business leadership for the evaluation of potential drug, biologic, and medical device development and clinical research activities in Mexico and Latin America. He is responsible for establishing and implementing clinical trial activities based on specific regulatory strategies, and for teams tasked with managing the budgets and timelines for these activities.
Dr. Guerrero previously served as Director of Hospital OCA/Monterrey International Clinical Research Center in Mexico, where he managed a multi-specialty hospital investigator network conducting clinical trials for the international CRO and pharmaceutical industries, and has also served as Director of Latin America for INC Research. In addition, he has coordinated numerous educational events related to ICH GCP guidelines among the medical and regulatory communities in Latin America. Through these and other professional and educational activities, Dr. Guerrero has become a recognized expert on the clinical and regulatory aspects of the Latin American region.
Dr. Guerrero received his Medical Degree from the School of Medicine in Juarez, Mexico. Afterwards, his medical research in the emerging tissue allograft transplant industry led to an opportunity for him to coordinate and manage operations for a transplant laboratory. He subsequently built and managed other organizations in the US tissue banking industry, including developing and implementing their operational policies.
