DIA Announces Strategic Partnership with Brazilian Society of Pharmaceutical Medicine (SBMF)

Horsham, PA, USA — August 08, 2012

DIA announced a dual membership agreement with the Brazilian Society of Pharmaceutical Medicine (SBMF). The agreement was signed by DIA Worldwide Executive Director Paul Pomerantz and Brazilian Society of Pharmaceutical Medicine (SBMF) President João Massud Filho on June 26, 2012 at the DIA 48th Annual Meeting in Philadelphia.

The dual membership agreement is a reflection of DIA’s continued efforts to expand its reach into Latin America. The recent regional growth has created unmet demands for pharmaceutical and medical device products and better access to health care.

According to Paul Pomerantz, the agreement is a significant step toward showing the strong interest DIA has in enhancing collaboration with all stakeholders from Latin America’s flourishing sector. ”Creating regional strategic partnerships enhances DIA’s goal to operate globally and act locally,” he noted.

The agreement covers only membership-related operations but opens the door for more formal collaboration in the areas of education, knowledge transfer, cross-promotional activities, volunteer engagement and, networking.
