Biography:
Mr. Yamauchi has worked at Otsuka for 35 years. After various assignments within the company, he was transferred to Otsuka’s Pharmacovigilance Department in 1999 when the department was reorganized. As Director of Global Pharmacovigilance, Mr. Yamauchi had been a driving force in establishing Otsuka’s pharmacovigilance systems. His responsibilities also included global alliance development and management, involving frequent travel to the USA, Europe, and Asian and Arab regions.
From August 2006 through July 2008, Mr. Yamauchi served as Deputy Managing Director of Otsuka Pharmaceutical Europe Limited, and also as a board member of that company from July 2007 through September 2008. For business reasons, he was located in Otsuka France and lived in Paris until end of July 2008.
On June 25, 2008, he was appointed as Operating Officer of the Pharmacovigilance Department of Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and returned to Osaka, Japan. To date, Mr. Yamauchi has spoken at 22 international conferences on pharmacovigilance.
