Biography:

Chikara Ieda is Director and General Manager of Clinical Development Department of the Kaken Pharmaceutical Co. LTD since 2009. He graduated Tokyo University of Pharmacy and Life Sciences in 1984 as a pharmacologist. He joined Kaken as a research scientist of medicinal chemistry and engaged in Structure Activity Relationship for six years. He was reassigned to Clinical Development Department in 1990 and after two years of experience as CRA, he engaged in Clinical Project Manager for two clinical projects. He was reassigned to Biostatistics and Data Management section in 1994 and engaged in Biostatistician for six years. He was trained as trial statistician as research fellow at Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, University of Tokyo. He also was system administrator of Clinical Data Management System, Trial Management System and Document Management System. Meanwhile he was a member of the JPMA Technical Committee and participated in ICH M2 and Electronic Clinical Trial Plan Notification to MHLW. He was reassigned to Staff of Cooperate Management in 2004 and engaged in Cooperate Internal Audit and Internal Control Planning. He has act as Cooperate Project Manager of several project such as Japanese SOX and Pandemic Flu.
