Biography:
Rebecca Vermeulen brings a variety of experiences and capabilities to her role as Vice President of Strategic Medical Marketing. A licensed pharmacist, she spent 18 years at a major pharmaceutical company working her way from sales to clinical research to global medical affairs leadership. She is recognized for her strategic planning and operational management skills. In addition, she has expertise in compliance and regulatory issues, as well as medical liaison development, medical education, medical communications, social media, meetings with healthcare professionals, and Six Sigma methodology.
In her director roles, Rebecca managed staffs of more than 150 people spanning multiple organizational units, and she has been responsible for budgets exceeding $30 million. She designed and implemented a national medical liaison program, which engaged customers through scientific exchange and actively responded to requests for information, appropriate medical information disclosure, and medical education. As a Six Sigma Champion, she coordinated more than 75 Six Sigma projects resulting in cost savings and increased efficiency within discovery research, which ultimately reduced the number of days it takes for new medicines to reach patients.
