Biography:
Christer Backman received his law degree from the University of Uppsala in 1977. After serving in district court he worked as a business and bank lawyer for many years. In 1994 he joined the Medical Products Agency.
Christer Backman is a senior expert and has since 2006 the position of EU-coordinator within Scientific and Regulatory Strategies at MPA. During 2008 he served at the European Commission in Brussels, D G Enterprise (now DG Sanco) and is representing Sweden in the Council Working Party.
Christer Backman is the Swedish member of the CMD(h), Pharmaceutical Committee and an alternate in Heads of Medicines Agencies (HMA).
