Statistics for Medical Communications Professionals
This module is designed to help medical communications and other pharmaceutical
industry professionals evaluate statistical data in medical literature. You will learn how to apply
statistical concepts when evaluating literature, identify strengths and weaknesses in study design, and
detect potential bias in the presentation of statistics.

The goal of this module is NOT to turn you into a statistician. It places less emphasis on how to
perform specific statistical tests and more emphasis on understanding what you are reading when
you are evaluating medical literature. The module aims to make you comfortable with the language of
statistics so you can ask questions and discuss issues with your statistician colleagues.

Featured Topics:
  • Evaluation of statistical data in medical literature
  • Detection of bias in the presentation of statistics
  • Assessing the strengths and weaknesses in study designs
