As Chief Communications Officer, Patricia (Pat) Gibson leads DIA’s global organization in marketing, communications and external affairs activities to create a unified global brand that is implemented through our regional teams. An experienced entrepreneur and consultant who has founded and operated two companies, Pat organizes and leads DIA’s communications and outreach efforts to both internal and external stakeholders.

Pat’s extensive experience in strategic communications, product development and marketing includes the development of health care communications and online training programs for Fortune 500 pharmaceutical companies including Abbott Nutrition, Abbott International and Astellas Pharma US. Pat has worked with internationally known subject matter experts in governmental and industrial roles, and translated their expertise into actionable plans and projects designed to reach targeted audiences. Pat has also led teams that developed strategic communications plans for federal agencies including the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Air Force.

Known for her ability to deliver results from working across functions with key organizational stakeholders, Pat is recognized for her ability to pull together diverse teams with complementary skills and lead them to complete short and long-term projects. She led the formation of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) Ohio Chapter and served on HBA’s Global Board of Directors for two years. Pat earned her BS from Indiana University in Communications and Business.
